This box is not remotely up to task, nor is the electrical run that feeds it. This is not a good way to run underground feeder cable:

That is an artifact of previous inhabitants exposed by years of erosion. I need to run that through some Liqua Flex conduit and bury it, which requires trenching through limestone. I’d prefer to retire this circuit and skip the chore of doing a proper job, but the gate opener is at the end of the run.

Until I clean up the electrical run, the gate opener’s battery will steadily run down until the gate no longer opens.
